I got charged even though I canceled

If you were charged, it means the subscription was still active at the time of renewal, and no cancellation was submitted before the charge was processed. When you sign up for a Walter Writes AI plan, you’re subscribing to a recurring service. That means:

Your payment method gets charged automatically every month or year (depending on your plan).
Payments keep going unless you cancel before your next billing date.
It’s not a one-time purchase.

Cancelling after the charge date doesn’t trigger a refund. If you cancel after your renewal is processed, your plan will remain active through the end of the current billing period, but you won’t be charged again.

We never charge unless the subscription is active, so if you’re seeing a charge, that means no cancellation was submitted before the charge went through. To confirm this:

On desktop:

Click your name in the bottom-left corner
Go to Manage Subscription

On mobile:

Tap the three lines in the top-right corner
Tap My Settings
Tap Manage Subscription
